About US

Welcome to Couples Dance Studio.  I would like to take the time to give you a brief description of the studio and what we have to offer.  We are located in Voorhees, N.J. and our teaching hours are Monday through Thursday 5:00pm to 10:00pm.  We are also available on Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm and on Sunday mornings from 8:00 am to 1:00pm.
Social, Ballroom, and Latin dance lessons are given during the week and on Saturdays at the studio location.  This also applies to couples working on their 1st wedding dance.
Intermediate and advanced students have the option to take lessons on an open dance floor at a public ballroom on Sunday mornings.
All lessons at Couples Dance Studio are private.  Students do not share the dance floor with other students and their teachers.  The only person in the room is your own instructor.  Having a 100% focus with a student without any form of distraction creates an atmosphere that is very productive.  As a result, our students learn very quickly and advance more rapidly compared to other studios, especially our single students.  That's right, we have just as many single students as we do couples.  Don't let the name of the studio mislead you.  The name "Couples Dance Studio" does not mean we only teach couples.  The studio was named accordingly because of the high volume of couples taking lessons preparing for their 1st wedding dance.  We also teach small groups and provide instruction for local organizations and clubs in surrounding areas.

                         Single Students

We have two goals for our students.

                  1. Teaching you to dance.
                  2. Introducing you to social ballrooms and places
to dance so that you can actively enjoy meeting
other singles sharing the same interest.

The social element of meeting people is usually what drives a single person to learn how to dance, as well as, the art of dancing in itself.  The studio will focus on both elements.  Our students actively go out dancing at social ballrooms throughout the area and enjoy dancing to the fullest. So, if you are single and would like meet other singles sharing the same interest, this is the studio that will take you there and make it happen.
You will be amazed how quickly this can be done.  Just to give you an example, if you are a female student taking lessons with a male instructor,  you could be dancing socially within 2 to 3 months.  Within 6 months, you would be dancing at a silver level, and within a year, you would be considered to be an advance level dancer.  Being able to advance so quickly is what sets us apart from other studios.  However,  it can only be
achieved by taking private lessons, not classes.
If you are a beginner, I strongly recommend taking private lessons for several reasons.  First of all,  when dancing with an instructor, male or female, you have the benefit to be dancing with someone that knows what he or she is doing.  The teacher will properly hold you, lead you properly, and spend the entire lesson developing your dancing as an individual.  The instructor will do this by verbalizing what you need to know and by dancing with you during the entire lesson.  Dancing with the instructor cannot be duplicated in any class.  This is what makes a private lesson so productive.  Think about it!  If you were to attend a beginner class, you will be dancing with other beginner students just like yourself having no dancing experience.  It's like the blind leading the blind.  Whether you are a male or female student, the benefits received from private instruction will always out weigh any dance class.  It is the most preferred method of learning.
